Rachel and Tyler’s elopement in Downtown Seattle at the King County Courthouse was an absolute blast, packed with all my favorite courthouse elopement trends! As they geared up for their destination wedding later in the year, they figured, why not take care of the legal side of things in style? Together, we collaborated on crafting a vision that truly embodied the essence of Rachel and Tyler—a celebration that was uniquely theirs and a refreshing departure from the cookie-cutter mold of traditional weddings.
That’s the magic of elopements, isn’t it? There are no strict rules or expectations—just a canvas waiting to be painted with love and creativity. Opting for the heart of Downtown Seattle as their elopement backdrop opened up a world of possibilities. From sneakily popping Champagne in the hotel halls (oops, sorry Hotel Sorrento!) to cheering down the steps of the courthouse, every moment was a reflection of their vibrant personalities and their deep love for each other.
Gone were the pre-ceremony jitters and the stress of wrangling extended family for photos—this day was all about joy, laughter, and creating memories that would last a lifetime. It was just Rachel and Tyler, radiating love and joy, surrounded by the city that symbolized the beginning of their next chapter together. It was a day filled with laughter, happy tears, and unforgettable memories—a celebration where love reigned supreme and spontaneity was the order of the day.
Before heading to the King County Courthouse, Rachel and Tyler enjoyed a laid-back afternoon helping each other get ready at the Hotel Sorrento in Downtown Seattle. Those quiet moments of preparation shared between them were truly special. For brides seeking a charming spot to get ready for their Downtown Seattle elopement, Hotel Sorrento fits the bill perfectly. Its exterior exudes a cool gothic feel, surrounded by skyscrapers that remind you of the vibrant Seattle atmosphere. But once you step inside, you’ll discover why Hotel Sorrento is such a hidden gem. With its vintage flair and cozy atmosphere, Hotel Sorrento offers a relaxed yet stylish setting, making it the ideal choice for couples who want a wedding venue with personality. From its inviting interiors to its historic charm, it sets the stage for a memorable celebration.
Ceremony Location: The King County Courthouse
Venue: Hotel Sorrento
Tyler & Rachel popped a bottle of champagne to celebrate their elopement and ran through the halls with a smile only two people this in love could have. The vintage inspired details of the Hotel Sorrento was the perfect backdrop for their portraits. The bride’s high slit satin gown paired with the bow she adorned brought all the modern elopement vibes to life. Their goal was to have photos that gave off the luxury old money aesthetic that is so popular in the wedding trends these days- and I think we did just that!
After some fun bride and groom elevator portraits we headed over to the bar for some direct flash couples portraits. The vibes were IMMACULATE and I will forever be obsessed with this day. After finishing their portraits inside the stunning lobby of Hotel Sorrento, we ventured around the streets of Downtown Seattle to create some more magic before heading to the courthouse for their ceremony.
If you’re planning your own Downtown Seattle Elopement- I would love to chat more about documenting your own love story!
